CMAP retained ASA to name, brand and develop a campaign to engage the public in developing a comprehensive plan for the 7-county region for the year 2040. ASA led a structured visioning and branding process with key stakeholders and launched GOTO2040 Imagine That… We designed a 5-part public engagement campaign to get everyone in the region thinking about the year 2040 through outreach, partnerships, social media and traditional media.
ASA developed “Be The Cure”, a public education program to broaden access to medical professions for those who have been historically excluded. “Be The Cure” trains health professionals of color to mentor middle school youth, and organizes school-wide assemblies for parents and teachers. A PR strategy amplifies the message through the media.
ASA produced this video to motivate the 2500 20-22 year-old subjects of The National Longitudinal Study of Youth to participate once again, and to gain understanding for why it is important.
Chicago Cultural Alliance – In 2006, ASA facilitated a planning process and wrote the business plan to form the Chicago Cultural Alliance (CCA), an alliance of 26 ethnic museums and cultural centers and several large institutions. Through the Alliance the ethnic museums are able to build and sustain cross-cultural dialogue and leverage the voices of their communities to create social change.
Urban Network: Museums Embracing Communities – The Urban Network is a consortium of 10 major metropolitan museums in five U.S. cities. Members work together to share strategies for increasing civic engagement and enhancing access to museum learning. ASA developed the Urban Network with The Field Museum in 2002, and edited a book about civic engagement strategies in 2003.
