The Urban Network: Museums Embracing Communities
Jennifer Amdur Spitz, principal of Amdur Spitz & Associates edited Urban Network: Museums Embracing Communities. The book was an outcome of a facilitated dialogue on civic engagement between innovative thinkers and programmers in ten major urban US museums. Urban Network: Museums Embracing Communities is made possible by the National Recreation Foundation through The Diversity Project: Increasing Equity of Access: Igniting a National Discussion, a two-year grant to The Field Museum. The book, Urban Network: Museums Embracing Communities was published by The Field Museum, c. 2003, 2004, and distributed by the University of Chicago Press. Used in Museum Studies courses and by museums worldwide, the book sold out in 2006.
