2010 Transit Lawsuit


When the law firm of Futterman Howard Ashley Watkins & Weltman filed a major civil rights suit alleging illegal discrimination in Illinois state transportation funding, Amdur Spitz & Associates worked to ensure the suit made the appropriate splash in the media.

ASA coordinated a press conference and relayed information to dozens of local and national media outlets, resulting in an avalanche of news coverage for the suit. Continue reading →

Columbia College Chicago- Program Development

ccclogogifASA worked closely with Columbia College Chicago’s Institutional Advancement office and various academic departments to design and build new programs that helped the College expand its footprint and engage strategic audiences. These include initial planning, program design and funding strategy for: Center for Community Arts Partnerships, Center for Asian Arts and Media, Center for Arts Policy, Urban Missions Program.

DeKalb Real Estate

Two suburban housing developers were in the process of building and approving subdivisions with over 1800 single family and duplex homes in rural DeKalb County. Work had been progressing well when a small, but very vocal community group began to organize and oppose all development. After the Village elected a new mayor with a no-growth platform, the developers teamed together and jointly hired ASA to reverse the tide. Continue reading →

GoTo2040 Webisode Series

Amdur Spitz & Associates not only created a vibrant youth engagement program for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, we also fulfilled their multimedia needs for the project, creating a series of webisodes on the Goto2040 website and distributed on DVD. Webisodes posted regularly through the process helped to build awareness for GOTO2040, and created fun entry points to the website.

CMAP retained ASA to name, brand and develop a campaign to engage the public in developing a comprehensive plan for the 7-county region for the year 2040. ASA led a structured visioning and branding process with key stakeholders and launched GOTO2040 Imagine That… We designed a 5-part public engagement campaign to get everyone in the region thinking about the year 2040 through outreach, partnerships, social media and traditional media.
